The Joy of Yoga Academy was started in 2007 by Smt. U V Naga Lakshmi who was an Advocate by profession. A well educated and qualified Law professional with multiple masters in M.sc in Yoga, M.com, MBA and MA. She is a certified Yoga Teacher from various reputed Yoga Schools in India and Overseas. She is also a Reiki Grandmaster, Pranic Healer, trained Advanced Accutherapist, Paida Lajin therapist (relaxation technique) and also Chiropractic therapy from Indo America alternative medical care. She is also a family counselling consultant, as well as a social activist, actively involved in helping various healthcare organizations.
Essence of Joy family
With well experienced Yoga trainers, we create & conduct online/offline yoga classes in various sessions for general fitness, ailments, immunity boosters, increase in bone density, muscle strength, stress free meditations, kriyas, bandhas, mudras, obesity, prenatal/postnatal yoga for pregnancy women and kids based yoga to reach the students expectations with positive energies to balance their day to day life with loads of happiness.
Apart from Yoga classes we have monthly one interesting activity for the students to encourage their inner talents.
- In January, on account of Swami Vivekananda’s Birthday, we conduct open Rangoli competition.
- In February, we celebrate Rathasapthami by performing Sun salutations and follow the tradition which is symbolic of change of seasons and the start of harvesting season!
- In March, we celebrate Women’s day. At Joy Of Yoga academy, we celebrate our diversity and we believe that women are the future makers of the country.
- In April, we celebrate world Health day. We spread awareness of Yoga through our campaigns across schools, corporates and various other places. We also perform 108 Surya Namaskar.
- In May, Joy Of Yoga Academy celebrates Mother’s Day.
- International Yoga day will be celebrated on June 21st. Students across all our batches come together for a group flow yoga session.
- July is marked as the celebration of Guru Purnami.
- In August, we celebrate Indian Independence Day. Students across all the batches in Hyderabad will be gathered to take part in sports activities.
- Teachers’ day is celebrated 0n September 5th.
- We begin preparation for our Annual day of Joy of Yoga Academy in October. We encourage all our students to come together to appreciate the spirit of Yoga and experience pure bliss through their involvement in various activities and competitions.
- In November, all our Joy of Yoga batches are engaged in team outings.
- December marks the year ending celebrations with potluck along with new years day celebrations at Joy of Yoga Academy. Students from all the batches come together to enjoy the spirit of togetherness and embrace the new year.
JOY of Yoga Academy helps individuals focus on their spiritual development. We’ve made a baby step in this direction by introducing daily Bhagavad Gita teaching sessions for interested students.
In memory of Ms. Shweta Narayani – an all rounder student who lives in all our hearts today. This award will be presented every year to a Joy of Yoga student who demonstrates all the attributes of an “all rounder”.

Our mission is to spread the awareness on the benefits of yoga and to help people to connect with themselves. We offer various types of yoga classes to encourage people to try yoga and ultimately fall in love with the practice.
Yoga is more than just exercise, or the practice of postures, we aim to promote yoga in its fullness, encompassing all 8 folds of Astanga yoga equally and not just focusing solely on the third fold of Astanga yoga i.e. asana practice.
